Abstract: What is the current situation for pizzerias, pubs and restaurants regarding deliveries? On the one hand, large-scale food outlet aggregators standardise the service, but this is no longer enough. There is a desire to gain customer loyalty and use apps as digital marketing tools as well as just home delivery service management tools. The main focus will be those cities that the food delivery giants have not reached and, for reasons relating to cost and investment, may never reach. Are all food outlets not covered by such services destined to be cut out of delivery digitalisation altogether? Definitely not! And the answer comes in the shape of the SEE YOU FOOD project.

Abstract: In 2017, we steered a start-up, Foorban, as it redesigned its site and improved its app. Foorban is the first digital restaurant in Italy. It delivers healthy, high-quality lunches to your door, managing the entire supply chain from the kitchen to delivery itself. To create an innovative service, using Service Design as the guiding principle, we learned that there are 3 essential ingredients:

- exploring internal processes as much as customers’ real habits
- combining digital and physical for a continuous, fluid experience
- handling and overseeing the Customer Experience through every phase

And for each ingredient, we have some practical advice to share.
