Since 2014, Ruggine is a little hideaway in a small alley in the heart of the city of Bologna.
Within the walls that, two hundred years ago, hosted a storeroom for carriages and, a hundred years later, a bicycle workshop, you can be pampered by a drink artfully prepared by our bartenders and by our Chef's delicacies.



Ruggine is not just a bar lived by people who are in love with their job.
In 2017, Ruggine starts a new adventure by opening Ragū: a laboratory with traditional take-away cuisine, a project that has expanded even more with ERRE Lab; an area that allows greater production capacity, both for kitchen and bar section.

2023 was the year of Ragū &Draft, a small kiosk that brings together the essence of Bologna street food and the philosophy of drinking handcrafted cocktails on tap... in Draft!

DAVIDE “DAVO" PATTA 

Davo, also called "il patato" is one of the partners and head of Ruggine.

Born in Torino, but then adopted by the city of Bologna, he is the one with a refined palate and the one who trains new recruits in the bar.

He boasts a record for gulping down 39 little bottles of Campari in 3 minutes, he dreams about living in Mexico.

He loves mezcla and traditional mixing.

He is a great fan of clean, simple and elegant style behind the counter.

He loves baby monk seals and wearing a lot of perfume.

STEFANO “DON” DONOFRI

Don is one of the 4 founders of Ruggine. 

Born in Bologna, with Abruzzo origins and Scottish eyes, Stefano is the regional champion and national vice-champion for 6 consecutive years in gulping down beer.

He is in love with motors, especially motorcycles, a passion that is gradually waning since he found out that gasoline pollutes the environment.

With a team of researchers, he is patenting a vodka-based fuel in order to be eco-friendly.
